As many of you may recall, usually at the AUTM Annual Meeting OUP will host a forum called the Exchange. Considering the virtual nature of meetings right now, we’re flipping the switch and taking the Exchange to a screen near you! On April 8th from 12:00 – 1:15 pm ET please join us for a virtual Exchange where the topic of discussion will be sublicensing clauses and practices. We’ll start out with a panel discussing their practices, then move to smaller breakout rooms to cover these particular questions: - When do you permit licensees to sublicense?
- What are your guidelines on sublicensing multiple tiers?
- Do you require approval of sublicenses prior to signature?
- What happens to sublicenses on termination?
- What are your accepted non-royalty sublicensing income exceptions?
Lastly, each breakout room will have a moderator and a scribe. These individuals will be responsible for summarizing the key findings of their breakout session to the larger group. If you would like to volunteer for one of these positions, please let Natasha Azar know at nazar@oup.vc As usual, we hope this event will not be just an exchange of practices and ideas, but also a place to network and chat with your colleagues from other academic institutions. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by emailing nazar@oup.vc. If you do RSVP as attending, we would appreciate your attendance at the event as the breakout rooms will be dependent on the registrations. Note: If your availability changes and you can no longer attend, please either cancel your registration or let Natasha Azar know as the success of this event is dependent on us knowing the number of attendees.
